Explicit design of framed tube high‐rise buildings via inverse problem approach

An explicit design procedure of cross-sections framed tube high-rise buildings via an inverse problem approach is presented. In the formulation, interstory drift ratios and net deformations beams are prescribed. The derived expressions clearly express three-dimensional effect (tube effect) from orthogonal frame. helpful for preliminary because rationally rapidly provided a set target without trial-and-error repetition. proposed method, 2×2-bay basic model under static horizontal loads designed at first. Then, this transformed into multi-bay model. second moments cross-section can be obtained based on equivalence responses those two models in case where elongation columns neglected. addition, assumptions axial strains introduced to obtain equivalent parameters It demonstrated through numerical examples that method has reasonable accuracy.
